Syzygy of Love

Directed by

Chen Hung-i

On Valentine's Day, a girl from a manga rental shop has been missing for seven days. The new chief at a seaside police station lost three people at once: the lover her daughter shot, her daughter, and the woman she once was. And the young officer at her station wears a face she recognizes. The officer and the influencer he brings in for a drug test were once childhood friends. There were never any drugs. Her soul, it turns out, has been hidden inside a man's body. A drifter appears out of nowhere and lays bare the illicit relationship he is caught in — a husband who watches and a wife who is watched — so that everyone in the room might wake from their own confusion about love. A young man turns himself in and explains that the missing girl has gone to another server. Seven days on, she is about to log back into the world. On Valentine's Day, these relationships align like a syzygy, a rare and perfect celestial alignment. Love draws them together, and the same gravity pulls them apart.
