Kolya Chimbartsev arrived at the boarding school of the port of Krasin from distant Odesa. He is to be met by his hydrologist father. But he has not returned from the scientific station located on the ice floe and has not made radio contact. But when they hear a warning about a storm, they hide under the bed and fall asleep, leaving, however, a note that they are going to the movies. An alarm is sounded in the village: the children have gone out in the blizzard...
