Alvaro Delgado Aparicio is an organizational psychologist, innovation facilitator, and an award-winning screenwriter and film director. He led a successful career as an organizational psychologist until he decided to change paths; in 2010, he wrote and directed his first short film, ¿Me puedes ver? ("Can You See Me?"), which had its world premiere at the Los Angeles International Film Festival. In 2013, his second short film, El Acompañante ("The Companion"), premiered at the Sundance and Rotterdam film festivals; it was also selected for official competition at over 80 festivals worldwide, including the Havana Film Festival. Alvaro Delgado Aparicio is an organizational psychologist, innovation facilitator, and an award-winning screenwriter and film director. He led a successful career as an organizational psychologist until he decided to change paths; in 2010, he wrote and directed his first short film, ¿Me puedes ver? ("Can You See Me?"), which had its world premiere at the Los Angeles International Film Festival. In 2013, his second short film, El Acompañante ("The Companion"), premiered at the Sundance and Rotterdam film festivals; it was also selected for official competition at over 80 festivals worldwide, including the Havana Film Festival. Retablo (2017)—his first feature-length narrative film as a writer and director—was developed through the Sundance Institute’s lab. In 2018, it held its world premiere at the Berlinale, where it won the Teddy Award for Best Debut Film and received a Special Mention for the Crystal Bear. Retablo garnered numerous accolades, earned a BAFTA nomination, and was selected to represent Peru as its entry for the 2020 Oscar and Goya awards.
